Dr. Michael Boyle, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Montclair State University. He is the Graduate Program Coordinator of the Speech-Language Pathology Master’s Program and Director of the Fluency Disorders Laboratory at Montclair. Dr. Boyle has written numerous articles and book chapters on topics of self-stigma and public stigma experienced by people who stutter. His research on topics such as mindfulness, and openness and disclosure of stuttering, has been utilized internationally by clinics specializing in treating stuttering. Professionals and advocates in stuttering from various countries have used evidence-based methods for public stigma reduction reported on by Dr. Boyle. Dr. Boyle also currently serves as an Editor for the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology.
